The Optimist Beach Club is a men’s apparel shop located at Platform in Culver City, California. Originally intended with a surfer clientele in mind, The Optimist Beach Club evolved into a sophisticated international beach club while retaining a sense of relaxation and ease. A textured, neutral palette and grounding earth elements sourced from around the globe build on the French 50’s style of its origin store, The Optimist. Its white-panelled wood walls and warm sandy plaster pulls inspiration from beach clubs in Saint-Tropez, Ibiza, and Bali, while accessories and accents of Mexican, Moroccan and African origin interplay effortlessly throughout. The highly crafted and worldly space both compliments and elevates the store’s selection of independent global goods.
